This walk offers you the opportunity to discover the village of Mellet, nicknamed by its inhabitants the « carrot village » because carrots are grown in great abundance here 🥕.

This 4.7 km walk will allow you to admire the church of Saint-Martin and Saint-Mutien-Marie ⛪ and the Donjon of Mellet, both listed as part of Wallonia’s immovable cultural heritage.

Let yourself be guided by a fun, educational walking brochure with historical elements. This tour is accessible to pushchairs and is suitable for young and old alike 👧🏼👦🏽 !

The brochures (free of charge) are available in paper form:

at the Relais du visiteur (Tuesday > Saturday, 9am-5pm)
at the Bons Villers municipal administration (Monday > Friday)

]]> Located in the heart of the village of Mellet, this medieval keep dates from the end of the 12th century. Formerly the seat of a Brabant fiefdom, the keep is occupied by the lords of Mellet. Classified as a historical monument since 1996, the keep currently houses the Tile, Folk, Historical and Religious Life Museum of the village.

]]> Des chasses au trésor 100% famille aux quatre coins du Pays des 4 Bras

Savais-tu que le Pays des 4 Bras compte de nombreux trésors ? Bzzz la petite mouche est la seule à tous les connaitre. A l’aide d’un carnet de promenade truffé d’énigmes et de petits jeux, pars à la conquête du village de Mellet pour en découvrir tous les secrets ! Si tu parviens à répondre à ses questions, Bzzz te dira même comment ouvrir la boite au trésor !

ATTENTION, un trésor en vaut un autre… Pour pouvoir prendre un trésor du Pays des 4 Bras, chaque petit aventurier devra en déposer un autre dans la boite pour faire plaisir au découvreur suivant. Pas besoin d’or ni d’argent, un tout petit quelque chose suffit (une babiole, un vieux bouton, un joli caillou…).

 

Cette promenade de 4,5 km démarre à l’Eglise Saints Martin et Mutien-Marie de Mellet.
